Referee appointed for Manchester City vs. West Ham (03.12.2017) – City Watch
Mike Dean has been appointed referee for Manchester City’s televised home game against West Ham on Sunday.
It will be the first of nine games in an incredibly busy festive period for the Premier League leaders, which could put their title credentials to the test. It will also be the final home game before three away days on the bounce, and Pep Guardiola’s men will hope to take maximum points from that fixture and the Southampton game preceding it.
Experienced official Dean has already taken charge of a City game this campaign, the 2-1 win over Bournemouth during which he handed out 10 yellow cards and controversially sent off Raheem Sterling for his celebrations after a late stoppage time winner.
Prior to that, his second-most recent appointment was at Stamford Bridge when he oversaw Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Guardiola’s side last season, giving the hosts a penalty which Willy Caballero saved before Eden Hazard netted the rebound.
