The 19-year-old joined City from Malmö to some hype several years ago after an extraordinary scoring record in the local youth ranks. That led to him being dubbed the ‘new Zlatan Ibrahimovic’ because of his Swedish nationality, tall frame, and ability to score freely.

Unfortunately, it didn’t really work out for Zack in Manchester, and after loan spells in Denmark with FC Midtjylland and FC Nordsjälland, he is heading to the Allsvenskan, Sweden’s top flight, with Sirius.

“You don’t stay for three years at such a club (Manchester City) until you are a good football player,” assistant coach Thomas Lagerlöf said.

“Zackarias is a hard-working and well-educated forward who combines goals and good passing.

“He is young and hungry and has a strong desire to develop his game. Additionally, he is good at creating goals.”

Faour has signed a three-and-a-half year contract with Sirius and has already completed two training sessions with the club. Next week he will officially join up with his new teammates.

“In my eyes, Sirius play some of the best football in the Allsvenskan,” he said. “I like the style and the way Sirius work.”
