Manchester City set to make official £60m bid for Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez – report – City Watch
Manchester City are set to test Arsenal’s resolve before the transfer window closes with a £60million bid for Alexis Sanchez, Matt Law of the Telegraph reports this evening.
Arsenal have been consistent throughout the summer in saying they will not sell Alexis to a local rival, despite the 28-year-old entering the final 12 months of his contract and ready to walk for nothing next summer.
However, Pep Guardiola has instructed City to try and tempt Arsenal into a sale by offering around £60million before the end of August.
In addition to a hefty fee, City are prepared to make Sanchez the highest paid player at the Etihad by offering him £400,000-a-week, including bonuses and image rights.
Guardiola sees Alexis as a vital potential addition to an already impressive side as he looks to build a squad capable of challenging in both the Premier League and Champions League.
