Manchester City are said to have submitted a first bid for Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez which is in the region of £45 million.

Arsene Wenger is adamant that Alexis Sanchez will not be sold this summer to a Premier League rival and that Arsenal would rather lose him on a free next summer with contract talks remaining at a standstill.

Chilean newspaper El Mercurio report that his agent, Fernando Felicevich, has told them that Arsenal have rejected a first offer from Manchester City for his client which is in the region of £45 million.

Alexis Sanchez is a top target for Pep Guardiola having coached him during his time at Barcelona and the player is believed to want to join back up with Pep at Manchester City.

Felicevich isn’t expecting City to walk away from a deal despite Wenger’s defiance and expects Guardiola to come back to the table with a larger offer that may force Arsenal’s hand.

Wenger is adamant the player will not leave, Manchester City are willing to splash out. The saga continues.
