Manchester City reveal when Riyad Mahrez will return after ankle problem – City Watch

Manchester City have confirmed that Riyad Mahrez will return to training later this week after scans showed no significant damage to his ankle.

The club-record signing was forced off early in the ICC win over Bayern Munich and was then spotted on crutches wearing a protective boot, raising fears that it could be a bad injury.

That proved to be precautionary while he had scans and the news is good – very good – with the club confirming that Mahrez could even be available to face Chelsea in this week’s Community Shield at Wembley.
