Manchester City midfielder agrees to join Galatasaray on 3-year deal worth €2.2m-a-year – City Watch
Galatasaray have reached a personal agreement with Manchester City midfielder Fernando Reges according to major Turkish news outlet Milliyet. An alternate source, NTV Spor, also said there had been a ‘positive response’ from Fernando after talks.
The Süper Lig giants have already signed Bafétimbi Gomis, Younès Belhanda, Mariano and others this summer, and have struck an agreement with 29-year-old Fernando it is reported.
Fernando has agreed to a three-year deal with an option for a fourth year, and will earn a salary of €2.2million per season should a deal between the two clubs be agreed.
No details on negotiations between City and Galatasaray are offered, such as if it would be a permanent or loan deal. Fernando was not seen boarding the flight to America today though, which could be a sign that his future lies away from the Etihad.
Fernando is the second City midfielder this week said to have agreed personal terms with Galatasaray after Samir Nasri – who was on the plane earlier today. The Turkish press is notoriously unreliable, although Milliyet is a very big organisation with almost 2,500,000 followers on Twitter.
