Manchester City defender pushes for move to Inter Milan, who insist on dry loan deal – report – City Watch
Eliaquim Mangala is pushing Manchester City to allow him to join Inter Milan, according to several reports from the Italian press.
City are all for the idea, but the issue remains the formula of the transfer, with Inter wanting a loan deal and City preferring something more permanent as they look to offload a player Pep Guardiola doesn’t want, despite his recent involvement in pre-season.
Last night, Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Italia said Manchester City have still not opened the door to a standard loan deal, despite the 26-year-old pushing for a transfer. And that has led to Inter exploring an alternative in the form of Arsenal star Shkodran Mustafi.
Today, TMW, who were among the first to reveal Inter’s interest in Mangala, also state that the player is pushing hard for this move to happen, seeing it as a great opportunity for his career. Inter continue to ask for a dry loan – one with no obligations at the end of it – but Man City want to sell Mangala or at least loan him with an obligation to buy next summer.
Inter are cautiously optimistic that there will be a positive outcome to talks, knowing that Mangala himself will continue to tell City chiefs that he wants the move.
