Manchester City could release £25m signing to facilitate transfer to Antalyaspor – report – City Watch
Samir Nasri’s Manchester City career could come to an inglorious end with French newspaper Le Parisien today suggesting that the Blues are open to releasing him from his contract just to get him off the books.
The 30-year-old’s enormous salary, reported to be as high as £170,000-a-week, has made him difficult to sell, despite his obvious talents, after Sevilla opted not to use their option to sign him following a season-long loan deal.
Turkish side Antalyaspor are interested in relaunching Samir’s career, with Le Parisien stating that City may well be willing to cut short his contract, which has two years remaining on it, to facilitate a deal.
Were Nasri to head to the Süper Lig side, who finished fifth last season, he’d team up with another Frenchman born in 1987, Jérémy Ménez, as well as legendary Cameroon striker Samuel Eto’o.
