Chris Sutton: Patrick Roberts WILL sign for Celtic from Manchester City – City Watch

City Watch

Chris Sutton has revealed on BT Sport tonight that he has it on “good authority” that Patrick Roberts will be returning to Celtic from Manchester City.

“I’ve got it on good authority that Patrick Roberts will sign for Celtic,” the former Celtic player said, while standing outside of Celtic Park.

If the 20-year-old is to return to Scotland, it won’t be in time to be registered for Celtic’s Champions League qualifier against Astana, as he was an unused substitute for City against Girona today and is in Spain.

City have been reluctant to let Patrick return to Celtic, believing he would benefit more at a club in a top five league, with Southampton and Nice among those showing interest.

But if Sutton is correct, Roberts will soon be Glasgow-bound. No word on if this will be a permanent or loan deal.
