Five new Manchester City youngsters to join NAC Breda on loan including French striker – City Watch
Manchester City will continue their working relationship with City Football Group partner club, NAC Breda, next season by sending a quintet of new players heading to the Rat Verlegh Stadion.
Defender Cameron Humphreys (18), midfielders Rodney Kongolo (19) and Paolo Fernandes (18), and forwards Isaac Buckley (18) and Thierry Ambrose (20) attended NAC’s 4-1 win over FC Oss on April 28 according to BN DeStem, and besides watching the game, they were given a tour of the club’s training facilities and shook hands with the technical staff.
The five are not yet confirmed to be joining the Dutch side, who are still in with a chance of winning promotion to the Eredivisie via the Eerste Divisie play-offs, and if for any reason any of them cannot join, replacements will be found in Manchester City’s EDS side.
The new batch of City kids will replace the group currently seeing out their loans in Breda. BN DeStem reports that Thomas Agyepong, Ashley Smith-Brown and David Faupala (who returned to City in January) failed to meet expectations, while Brandon Barker, the great hope of the original group sent over, did not live up to his reputation and often struggled with injuries.
James Horsfield has been considered a solid addition, but not essential, and only young Spanish playmaker Manu García is said to have actively improved the team with his talents. The question is whether García is too good for this level, even though he is open to another season in the Netherlands.
