Dani Alves to Manchester City update: NO deal done yet, talks ongoing, player wants move – City Watch
Earlier this evening we reported news from Spain that Manchester City were in advanced talks to reunite Juventus right-back Dani Alves with Pep Guardiola at the Etihad.
Since then, three more sources have confirmed this news, which now looks rock solid.
First up, our friend Sam Lee from Goal confirmed that City had been in talks over the last 48 hours for the Brazil international and were closing in on a deal.
City hoped to sign Mendy & Walker first and then sort out Bertrand and other right-back (now we know it’s Alves), but Alves is now closer

Then came a serious confirmation from Goal Italia journalist Romeo Agresti, the best Juventus source around, who also said Alves has given his nod to the move.
#MCFC are working to sign #DaniAlves, already got the player’s consent over the move. @goal

Finally, Sky Italia got in on the act, with Fabrizio Romano stating that talks were ongoing with nothing done yet.
Man City in talks with Juventus for Dani Alves. Guardiola wants him. NOT yet a done deal, need to find agreement w/ Juve 🇧🇷 #transfers #MCFC

Once again, as everyone speculates over different targets, City have quietly worked on a surprise deal that almost looks done, with just an agreement between the clubs needed. At the age of 34, Alves will not command a huge fee, though Juventus are unlikely to let him go for nothing.
