Confirmed: Ederson to make Brazil debut against Claudio Bravo’s Chile – City Watch
After several call-ups, Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson will finally win his first cap for the Brazil national team on October 10 when the Seleção face Chile in a World Cup qualifier.
Tite said at a news conference today: “I already spoke to the players and Taffarel (goalkeeping coach). Alisson will play against Bolivia and Ederson against Chile.”
This means that both of Manchester City’s main goalkeepers Ederson and Claudio Bravo will go head to head when Brazil meet Chile, and for the 24-year-old it opens the door to him deposing Roma’s Allison as first-choice ‘keeper heading into this year’s World Cup in Russia.
Ederson has been sensational since his £34.9m move from Benfica in the summer, adjusting seamlessly to Premier League football and keeping a host of clean sheets while also impressing fans with his excellent distribution.
Ederson has not conceded a goal since 26 August.

Ederson could line up with as many as three City teammates for Brazil, with Danilo, Fernandinho and Gabriel Jesus also in Tite’s squad for the games against Bolivia and Chile.
