TWENTY clubs register interest in Manchester City wonderkid who is aiming for the top – City Watch

Manchester City have one of the hottest strike prospects in Europe on their books, but even if they would like to, may not be able to integrate him into the first-team squad next year.

19-year-old Enes Ünal has been a revelation on loan at FC Twente in the Eredivisie, the teenage striker bagging 17 goals in 30 appearances and also contributing 4 assists.

And according to De Telegraaf (via Voetbal Primeur), TWENTY clubs are showing interest in recruiting him next season.

Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Lazio are known to have interest in the Turkish international, but it appears many other clubs also admire his talents.

With only five caps to his name for Turkey, Ünal is not eligible for a work permit yet, so he is poised to go out on loan again next season. Speaking to De Telegraaf, he said, “The next step in my career will be very important. I hope to make a decision in June.”

“Manchester City is a wonderful club, but it’s important that I play full matches weekly. This year at FC Twente has been great,” the teenage sensation said.

With a work permit seemingly impossible, Ünal said that he does not expect to go on Manchester City’s summer tour of the United States as it would be a waste of time he could spend at his next club – and he isn’t ruling out a return to Twente either.

“These years are crucial. When I’m 24, I want to be at the top. The next step may be another year at FC Twente. Anything is possible.”

City have a gem on their hands in the form of Enes Ünal and while he may not be able to play a part in Pep Guardiola’s squad yet, if he continues to develop and score for fun, he could be a future star at Manchester City. For now, another loan deal beckons for a talent already valued at €10 million-plus.
