Torino president: We didn’t expect so many mistakes from Joe Hart – City Watch

Joe Hart is looking for a new club with a return to the Premier League his preference after a year on loan at Serie A side Torino. One thing is for sure, he will not be returning to Turin, with Manchester City not in the mood to sanction another loan move and Torino not having the finances to purchase him.

Hart has been linked with a host of Premier League sides, but we are still none the wiser as to who will buy him from City. He has gone 17 games without a clean sheet for Torino and despite some good saves throughout the season, he has also been prone to mistakes.

Speaking to the Italian press, Torino president, Urbano Cairo, admitted that they had not expected England’s number one to make so many mistakes after his high-profile loan switch.

“Hart made a few mistakes, especially when coming out for the ball,” Cairo is quoted as saying. “He’s an important goalkeeper. We probably didn’t expect so many mistakes from an England international… but he did some good things, too.”

The Manchester City fan favourite, who turned 30 in April, was Serie A’s second-most error prone goalkeeper as of data from mid-April.

However, his maturity and experience in the English league should see him find a new club in the upcoming transfer window. The likes of West Ham, Everton, Chelsea and even Manchester United have been rumoured to have an interest in Hart.
