Tony Pulis: We have a different plan in mind for Manchester City… – City Watch
Tony Pulis is looking to overturn West Brom’s rotten form against Manchester City by using some surprise tactics when the Blues visit The Hawthorns tomorrow.
West Brom have failed to beat Manchester City in their last fifteen attempts going back to 2010, all but one of them defeats for the Baggies. Even their last win was a cup game, and you have to go all the way back to 2008 for their last league victory.
And tomorrow, West Brom face a Man City side that looks as good as any before them in that time.
West Brom are eight games without a win, but Pulis, who saw a much-changed City side beat West Brom last month in the Carabao Cup, has a plan.
“The players are as disappointed as anybody. There are areas we have to improve on. Manchester City are the form team in Europe.
“We will approach the game a little bit different than normal but I won’t say how we will do it. They’re a very good team.”
The common tactic Pulis uses against City is to defend deep and hope for an opening to attack, but that strategy was undone in just three minutes when the sides met last month, as Leroy Sané scored the first of his two goals in a 2-1 win.
So what does the veteran manager have planned for tomorrow?
