Talks between Manchester City and Serie A club for midfielder’s return ‘progressing well’ – City Watch
It is looking more and more likely that forgotten Manchester City midfielder Bruno Zuculini will return to Italy with Hellas Verona next season.
The former Argentina under-20 international spent a productive half-season at the Serie B club, playing alongside his older brother Franco and helping win promotion back to Serie A.
Talks recently started over a return to the club for Bruno, who has spent his entire City tenure out on loan since arriving in 2014, and according to Hellas1903 negotiations are progressing.
The news portal reports that Zuculini’s return is ‘closer’ with both clubs having positive talks about another deal.
The only question is if the 24-year-old will return to Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi on loan or permanently. City would ideally want him off their books with no chance of him breaking into the first team, but like so many Italian clubs, Hellas operate on a tight budget.
Zuculini is not out of contract until 2019 (c/o Transfermarkt) and if Hellas cannot fund a permanent deal, City may be resigned to loaning the central midfielder out until his deal is up.
