Sevilla president José Castro: This is what Pep Guardiola told me about Jesus Navas… – City Watch
Unless of any major surprises, Jesus Navas will live out his dream of returning to his beloved Sevilla this summer after ending his four-year stint at Manchester City.
The 31-year-old has been subject to interest from Italy and Turkey, but has his heart set on a return to sunny Nervión and it just appears to be a question of time now until he is announced as a Sevilla player.
Speaking to Radio Sevilla, club president José Castro said he had recently contacted City manager Pep Guardiola to get the lowdown on Navas as he tries to sort out his return to the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán.
“I had the opportunity to speak with Pep recently in Barcelona,” Casto told the radio station. “He told me that Jesus is good for three or four more seasons. He told me only good things about him, even from this year when he played as a full-back.”
Castro reiterated that he would love to bring Navas back home, although there are still some talks to be held with the player’s representatives before anything can be signed.
Navas could be one of two City men heading to the La Liga side this summer after Nolito decided he wants to join the club, meaning City and Sevilla only need to agree terms to make that happen.
