Premier League side make cash offer for Eliaquim Mangala, but he favours Inter – report – City Watch
Inter Milan face sudden competition for Manchester City centre-back Eliaquim Mangala, with Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Italia reporting that Stoke City have made a bid for the French international.
And unlike Inter’s proposal, Mark Hughes’ side have offered cash for Mangala, which is exactly what City want as they look to offload the 26-year-old, who has been a huge disappointment since his big money move from FC Porto in 2014.
Unfortunately for City though, Mangala is not keen on a move to the bet365 Stadium and still favours a move to Inter, creating something of an impasse unless he can be convinced to remain in England with the Potters.
Such is the Italian way, Inter want Mangala on loan, preferably a dry loan which doesn’t obligate them to purchase him next year. This is not what City want, but with the player’s will being a move to Milan, it mean his situation is currently in standby and could go down to the last days of the window.
Inter have also failed in an attempt to sign Shkodran Mustafi on loan from Arsenal, but Mangala is their priority to reinforce Luciano Spalletti’s defence.
