Patrick Roberts set to rejoin Celtic on loan from Manchester City – reports – City Watch
Manchester City will respect the wishes of winger Patrick Roberts by allowing him to return to Celtic for a second loan spell, according to multiple reports from Scotland this afternoon.
The 20-year-old had been at something of an impasse with City, who had wanted him to experience a higher ranked league, with interest arriving from Southampton in the Premier League and Nice in Ligue 1.
However, due to the overwhelming support of fans and familiarity with the Glaswegian club, Roberts had his heart set on a return to Celtic, something that is now set to happen.
A host of Scottish news sources, including BBC Scotland and the Daily Record, report that Roberts is expected to be unveiled by Celtic next week, with the two clubs finalising terms for a second loan term. His previous stint lasted 18 months, during which he won four trophies, including two Scottish Premiership titles.
