Nigeria striker Olarenwaju Kayode has confirmed earlier reports that he has joined Manchester City from Austria Wien.

In a message on his Instagram, ‘Larry’ as he is nicknamed said he has signed a four-year contract with City and will immediately join partner club Girona FC on a season-long loan deal.

Sounding ecstatic about his new adventure, Kayode said: “Am blessed…its time to kick some Ass and play good football…Thanks to the real LK8 fans and family…We love you all”

No fee is known yet, but City have acquired a 24-year-old with a proven goal-scoring record in Austria, having been the top scorer in the country’s top flight last season. He previously played for Maccabi Netanya in Israel and ASEC Mimosas in the Ivory Coast, and also had several loan spells including a stint with FC Luzern in Switzerland.
