Official: Gavin Bazunu joins Manchester City and has already made his debut – City Watch

Shamrock Rovers have announced that highly-rated Ireland youth international goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu has completed his transfer to Manchester City.

The 16-year-old had originally been scheduled to join in the summer in order to complete his Learning Certificate in Dublin, but plans have been brought forward in order to integrate him into City’s youth system.

And Bazunu has made a quick debut after his move was made official, being named in the starting lineup for City’s under-18s against Stoke on Saturday.

The transfer fee involved is thought to be in the region of £420,000 and Bazunu comes with plenty of experience already, having played for Shamrock Rovers’ first team, even appearing in Europa League qualifiers last year.
