Manchester City preparing bid for Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – City Watch
Manchester City are preparing a bid for Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang according to Sky sources.
The Bundesliga top scorer was strongly linked with a move to the Etihad last summer when Sky Italia transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio reported that there was optimism of a deal being done. Aubameyang later admitted talks had taken place, but nothing was agreed.
Now, one year later, it appears that Pep Guardiola is set to make another move for a player who wants to leave Dortmund this summer. Sky Sports reports that with Aubameyang’s £60 million move to Paris Saint-Germain hitting the buffers, City are ready to swoop in with an offer as they view the 28-year-old as one of the few elite strikers on the market right now.
A deal for Aubameyang is expected to cost at least £60 million and would put any move for Alexis Sanchez in serious doubt. Alexis, Guardiola’s primary attacking target this summer, could opt for Bayern Munich or remain at Arsenal if City instead look to Aubameyang.
