Manchester City poised to lose starlet for free in summer with Everton, Celtic, PSG interested – City Watch
Manchester City face losing one of their most highly-rated prospects, 19-year-old Tosin Adarabioyo, on a free transfer this summer after talks over a new deal ground to a halt, according to Paul Hirst of The Times.
Tosin’s camp and City have been struggling to agree terms for several months now, but City were thought to be optimistic about retaining one of their academy poster boys, who has made three first-team appearances under Pep Guardiola this season.
However, his brother and agent, Gbolahan Adarabioyo, has failed to agree a new deal with City chiefs and as it stands, the 6ft 5in Manchester-born defender will be departing the Etihad in nine and a half weeks.
Tosin is unhappy with a lack of playing time under Guardiola and unless he is given the impression that this will change, he is set to leave the club. The Times says there was an expectancy that the youngster would play at least ten times this season, but despite defensive problems and recurring injuries to Vincent Kompany, this has not happened.
Everton and Celtic are known suitors of the teenager, but French giants Paris Saint-Germain and German talent-spotters RB Leipzig are now also in the hunt. If Tosin moves to a domestic club, City could receive a considerable sum in compensation, but a move to a foreign club would see City receive a more negligible sum.
