Manchester City pair set to miss France vs. Argentina World Cup clash today – City Watch

Manchester City duo Sergio Aguero and Benjamin Mendy, who will be in opposite camps, are set to miss out on the starting XIs when France face Argentina at the World Cup today.

Mendy has suffered an injury setback with coach Didier Deschamps telling the press, “He is unavailable owing to a muscular problem. Lucas Hernandez is fine.”

Aguero, meanwhile, will continue to pay for his dig at Argentina coach Jorge Sampaoli by taking a spot on the substitutes bench again.

Jose Alvarez, the well-informed journalist and friend of Kun, confirmed on Twitter that the 30-year-old is going to be left out again.

Sampaoli will play without 9 tomorrow. Kun is out again. It is very “clever” for the coach to say how he will play the day before the game for France can be ready for it. All the life, for big centre backs, fast strikers. Sampaoli did it again…

Only Nicolas Otamendi of the three City stars who could be involved looks set to start, with kick-off at 15:00 BST this afternoon.
