Manchester City on verge of clinching £43.6m deal for Monaco left-back Benjamin Mendy – City Watch

City Watch

Manchester City appear closer than ever to capturing highly-rated Monaco left-back Benjamin Mendy after signing his team-mate Bernardo Silva yesterday.

According to Twitter user @Julien_m_18, who is considered a trusted source in Monaco circles and had information on Silva and Mendy yesterday, a deal is very close to being struck. If there are no complications, City will sign the 22-year-old French international for around €50 million (£43.6 million), roughly the same price as Bernardo Silva.

🔄 Selon mes informations, Benjamin Mendy est sur le point de s’engager avec Manchester City pour 50 millions d’euros.

French tabloid le10sport had an exclusive report last night, claiming that Mendy had decided to join City over neighbours Manchester United, despite Jose Mourinho playing the Paul Pogba ‘card’ to try and lure him to Old Trafford.

And if this new information is accurate, City could be close to landing a second big name signing from their Champions League conquerors. And he seems to be quite a fan of Pep Guardiola going back several years!

Guardiola !
