Manchester City consider 19-year-old to solve goalkeeping crisis after Claudio Bravo injury – City Watch

Manchester City could avoid searching for a goalkeeper on an emergency loan or from the list of free agents by recalling one of their own from loan.

News broke last night that Claudio Bravo could be out for the rest of the season after rupturing an Achilles tendon in Monday training, leaving the Blues desperately short on cover.

According to Jack Gaughan of the Daily Mail, City are putting some thought into recalling 19-year-old Aro Muric from NAC Breda, less than a month after he was sent to the Dutch partner club for his first senior experience in the game.

6’5″ shot-stopper Muric is highly-rated at the Etihad Stadium and while City’s preference would be to leave him at NAC, with only Daniel Grimshaw available to serve as back-up to Ederson, they are also considering recalling the Montenegro under-21 international.

Muric made his Eredivisie debut for NAC at the weekend, keeping a clean sheet in a 3-0 win over De Graafschap, and Mitchell van der Gaag will be hoping City find another option rather than deprive him of the teenager.
