Juventus ‘not very interested’ after being offered loan deal for Man City defender – report – City Watch
Manchester City centre-back Eliaquim Mangala has been offered to Serie A giants Juventus on a season-long loan according to Tuttosport.
The 26-year-old recently rejected a move to Russia with reigning champions Spartak Moscow and despite a good season at Valencia appears short on suitors, after being made available for transfer by Pep Guardiola.
Juventus, having lost Leonardo Bonucci to AC Milan on one of the summer’s most shocking deals, are in the market for a centre-back and have been recently linked with Mangala, but Tuttosport claims that, for now at least, they are not very interested in signing Mangala.
With 20 days remaining in the transfer window, Mangala’s future needs to be sorted soon. He has been utilised by Pep Guardiola during pre-season games, but like his compatriot Samir Nasri, the club are hoping to move him on before the end of August.
City are in the market for a new centre-back and Mangala could earn a reprieve if the right target isn’t found this month. In the meantime, he is available for selection and training normally, scoring overhead kicks and all.
