Juventus already seeking replacement for defender as Manchester City make £50m bid – report – City Watch

City Watch

The Alex Sandro rumours are REALLY heating up. Following reports in Portugal and in Italy that Manchester City are very serious and willing to shell out big money to land the 26-year-old, a player Pep Guardiola is known to admire, a reputable northern journalist has added fuel to the fire.

Simon Mullock of the Sunday Mirror is now reporting that City have made a £50 million bid for the Brazilian ace, who has emerged as one of Europe’s best left-backs in the last couple of years.

Guardiola asked City’s deal-makers to sign Sandro last summer, but Juventus refused to sanction a deal – and the Blues are going back again with an offer that may prove too tempting for the Old Lady to resist.

According to Mullock, Juventus will struggle to reject the £50 million that City have proposed and in fact have already started searching for a replacement.

Neil Fissler of the Sunday Express is yet another reporting that City are going for Sandro, and claims that the club are willing to invest £85 million in Sandro and Tottenham’s Kyle Walker as their new starting full-backs.

It appears that Alex Sandro is City’s top target for the problematic left-back position, but others who may be targeted if Alex Sandro proves impossible to acquire, are Benjamin Mendy (Monaco), Sead Kolašinac (Schalke 04) and José Luis Gayà (Valencia).
