Jason Denayer agrees terms with Lyon but Man City want to send him to Spain – report – City Watch
Jason Denayer has a personal agreement to join Ligue 1 side Lyon on loan this summer – but Manchester City have another destination in mind for the 21-year-old.
This comes days after L’Equipe reported that Lyon favoured a move for Belgian international Denayer over his Man City teammate Eliaquim Mangala, who has held talks with the French side.
What wasn’t clarified was whether Lyon wanted Denayer permanently or on loan, but Belgian newspaper HLN has a follow-up to the story today, revealing Denayer has agreed to join Lyon on loan.
However, Denayer to Lyon is by no means a done deal with City yet to sanction a move. They want the centre-back to join Girona FC in Spain on loan instead, as part of the collaboration between the two clubs that has seen the newly-promoted La Liga side request seven young players on loan.
It is expected that Jason Denayer’s future will be decided in the next few days, but will it be a loan to Lyon or Girona?
