EXCLUSIVE: Kevin De Bruyne to be out for four weeks with hamstring injury – City Watch
Kevin De Bruyne is set to miss a month of action, a source close to the player has told City Watch.
De Bruyne limped off with less than ten minutes to go in yesterday’s victory over Swansea, although at the time it didn’t look too serious and he stopped to exchange words with Pep Guardiola.
However, damage to De Bruyne’s hamstring will keep him out for around four weeks, the club’s medical staff informed his camp today. The 25-year-old will travel to Barcelona on Monday for treatment from a specialist.
Fortunately for City (but not for Belgium), an international break falls during his absence, but if he does miss four weeks, he is likely to be absent for the following matches: Celtic (a), Tottenham (a), Everton (h), Barcelona (a), Southampton (h)
Unless of an early recovery, the EFL Cup fourth round clash with Manchester United on October 26 is a potential return date, or if that comes too soon, the Premier League trip to West Brom the following weekend.
