Departing Man City left-back snubs offers from Turkey, Liverpool and Bordeaux possible alternatives – City Watch
Following talks with Istanbul giants Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe, outgoing Manchester City left-back Gaël Clichy has decided he doesn’t want to play in Turkey.
Clichy, 31, is still under contract with City until June 30 but is free to find his next club – however, Fotomaç reports that he has put a halt to all talks over a move to Turkey’s Süper Lig.
This comes after claims that he was in advanced talks to join Fenerbahçe, followed by a report that he has snubbed Fenerbahçe to instead join their fierce rivals, Galatasaray.
If the former French international was close to joining either team, those deals appear dead and he prefers to continue his career elsewhere.
In recent weeks, Liverpool have been rumoured to hold an interest in Clichy, while Bordeaux may present an option back in his native France. There has also been talk of interest from Serie A, with Napoli, Inter and even Juventus mentioned.
