Dani Alves on Brazilian TV: Manchester City my next team? Well… – City Watch
Dani Alves appears to be days away from a reunion with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City after Juventus agreed to rescind his contract, allowing the 34-year-old the chance to pursue his ambition of playing in the Premier League.
And Alves has done little to deny rumours, despite no contract being signed yet. He appeared on Conversa com Bial in his homeland earlier and was asked about his future plans.
“I do not know yet what is happening,” said Alves when asked if he was leaving Juventus. “It’s news you’re giving me first-hand, that I asked to leave. I’ve left the work to my representatives, and they’ve said they’d talk to me once they found a resolution.
“If I get out (of Juventus), it’ll be without any fights, no problems, contrary to what they’re saying.”
Alves was then asked about the rumours of him heading to Man City…
“City? Everyone knows about my admiration for Pep Guardiola. If this happens, it will be a great pleasure.”
Unless of any big surprises, Alves is expected to become City’s third major signing of the summer in the coming days, arriving on a free transfer.
City Watch writer Daniel Bower shares his view on this potential signing with three reasons why Dani Alves would be a good signing for City.
