Chelsea have a “serious and strong interest” in signing Sergio Agüero – report – City Watch

City Watch

Yesterday’s incredible claim by Spanish journalist Manu Sainz that Chelsea want to sign Sergio Agüero was met with a mixture of disbelief and anger on social media by City fans.

It seems to defy all logic and City will surely not sell the club icon to potentially their closest title rivals next season – unless, perhaps, Pep Guardiola has something really huge lined up.

However, there is now some support for Manu Sainz’s claim, with Sky Sports reporting that Chelsea do in fact have a “serious and strong interest” in signing Kun.

Sky sources say “it will be very difficult for Chelsea to sign Aguero” but that their interest is real.

Chelsea are in search of an elite striker having missed out on Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United recently, and have been linked with the likes of Álvaro Morata, Andrea Belotti and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang since missing out on Lukaku.

Agüero was on the flight to the US today for City’s pre-season tour and the club will surely reject any approach from Chelsea.
