Arsenal ace Alexis Sanchez to snub Real Madrid interest and push through Man City move – report – City Watch
Even interest from the most successful club in football, Real Madrid, can’t change the mind of Alexis Sanchez. The Arsenal star, who also snubbed PSG and Bayern Munich in the summer, is hell-bent on joining Manchester City and according to John Cross of the Mirror will reject any possible approach from Madrid, who have him on a shortlist of candidates to strengthen their forward line.
Despite enduring heartbreak on transfer deadline day when his move to City fell through, Alexis still plans to reunite with Pep Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium and intends to join City either in January or next summer when his Arsenal contract is up and he becomes the hottest free agent on the market.
City are very confident of finally landing a player they first went for in 2011 before he eventually opted for Barcelona, and will save themselves as much as £60million, the amount Arsenal agreed to sell him for before reneging when Thomas Lemar turned down a move to the Emirates.
Madrid are considering the 28-year-old with the future of Gareth Bale in huge doubt. And he showed his professionalism last night, scoring the second goal in Arsenal’s 3-1 Europa League win over German side FC Köln on a chaotic night in North London.
