Fernando Reges touched down in Istanbul half an hour ago to complete his transfer from Manchester City to Galatasaray, which will end his three year stay at the Premier League club.

The 30-year-old was greeted by the passionate fans, who waited for hours, said ‘Galatasaray!’ while being filmed.

Fernando is now on his way to Galatasaray’s headquarters to complete all of the necessary formalities before becoming the latest player to officially City in what is a hugely busy summer. Kelechi Iheanacho earlier completed his £25million move to Leicester and several others are expected to leave soon as Pep Guardiola continues to rebuild his squad.

An announcement that Fernando has joined Galatasaray could come tomorrow, but there no no longer any doubt that ‘The Octopus’ is on his way out, with Galatasaray set to pay £4.75million with a further £800,000 in add-ons to follow.
