Valencia have reportedly turned down the chance to sign Manchester City defender Eliaquim Mangala after a loan spell at the club.
Plaza Deportiva report that an option-to-buy clause in his loan deal has now expired and Valencia haven’t activated it, meaning the 26-year-old will return to Manchester in the summer.
It’s no secret that Valencia lack funds and they believe €20 million was a price tag they couldn’t justify paying at the moment, but they may go back and negotiate a new and cheaper deal for the Frenchman.
However, there are a number of other clubs interested in his services and it’s unlikely that Manchester City will lower their price tag, which could see Eliaquim Mangala playing his football elsewhere next season.
