Galatasaray are plotting a move for young Manchester City midfielder Oleksandr Zinchenko according to a report by ProTV in Romania.

They report that Zinchenko, 20, is one of two promising youngsters the Turkish giants want to take on loan next season, the other being Fiorentina’s Ianis Hagi, son of Galatasaray and Romania legend Gheorghe Hagi.

Few other details are disclosed but Zinchenko is likely head out on loan again after a disappointing season at PSV Eindhoven in the Dutch Eredivisie, where he only played 493 minutes of league football all season. The youngster was eventually sent to Jong PSV, the B team who play in the second tier of Dutch football, and impressed at that level, registering 11 assists in his last 8 games.

Before any decision is made on his future, Zinchenko may report for pre-season training at City, where Pep Guardiola can again have a look at him.

Signed for £1.5 million from FC Ufa last summer, the Ukraine international arrived with some hype and Man City had to fend off competition from Borussia Dortmund for his signature. His next move could be important for his career after a difficult year in the Netherlands, and Galatasaray have opened the door to an experience in Turkey’s Süper Lig.
