Sergio Agüero: I’m happy at Manchester City and plan to see out my contract – City Watch
Sergio Agüero will remain a Manchester City player next season, despite a barrage of rumours throughout the last campaign that he wasn’t Pep Guardiola’s ideal profile for a striker and could be sacrificed as the City boss looks to shape his ideal squad.
Like the true world class striker he is, Kun adapted well to Guardiola’s demands and if there were any doubts in Pep’s mind, they seem to have disappeared, with both manager and player wanting the working relationship to continue.
Speaking to Chinese news outlet Xinhua, the 29-year-old has again made it clear where his loyalties lie.
“I still have two years on my contract with Manchester City,” Agüero replied when asked if he would ‘definitely’ remain at City next season. “I feel very happy here, so I will fulfill my contract to stay here until the end of my deal. I have not thought about where to play next. I just want to focus on the work here.”
El Kun also gave a review of his performances last season, in which he scored a career-high 33 goals in all competitions.
“I think my season was not bad. My form was pretty good. That is true I missed a lot of games and that stopped me from helping the team score more goals. But overall it was a very positive season.”
