Riyad Mahrez to miss Leicester vs Everton as he tries to force Manchester City move – report – City Watch

There are less than 13 hours to go for Manchester City to pull off a huge deadline day move for Riyad Mahrez, who has emerged as Pep Guardiola’s alternative to Alexis Sanchez.

And the player is doing everything he can to convince Leicester to give him the big move he’s been wanting for a while now, with Matt Law of the Telegraph stating that he will miss Leicester’s game against Everton tonight.

I’m told Mahrez is not with the rest of the Leicester squad preparing for the Everton game and is set to miss it as he tries to force Man City move #lcfc #mcfc Mw6sP2aJ9k

The 26-year-old has handed in a transfer request while City have seen a couple of bids knocked back, and according to Law, the deal could still go either way at this point, but Mahrez is ‘fighting’ to make it happen.

City’s are willing to pay around £55million for the 2015/16 PFA Player of the Year, but Leicester value him at £90million – a huge difference in valuation that could make an agreement hard to find before 11pm.
