Referee appointed for Manchester City vs. Chelsea (10/2/2019) – City Watch

A tough week for Manchester City will conclude with a game against Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea, who won the reverse fixture in December to end City’s long unbeaten run.

In charge for the big game on Sunday will be referee Mike Dean, his second Manchester City appointment in the Premier League this season.

Dean’s first City assignment in the league was the 2-1 defeat to Leicester on Boxing Day, during which he sent off Fabian Delph.

Since then, he was the man with the whistle when City obliterated Burton Albion 9-0 in the Carabao Cup.

For City’s Sunday opponents Chelsea, Dean has overseen two Premier League draws this season – their 0-0 stalemate at West Ham in September and 2-2 home draw with Manchester United in October.
