Oleksandr Zinchenko expected to leave Man City despite joining pre-season tour – report – City Watch

The inclusion of Oleksandr Zinchenko in today’s Manchester City travelling party to the USA may have surprised some, given City have accepted a £16million bid from Wolves for the Ukraine international.

It has been almost two weeks since stories of City accepting a bid for Oleks broke, and since then there has been talk of another Premier League club, Fulham, making an even bigger offer for the 21-year-old.

Yet despite Zinchenko not leaving the club and travelling to the States with his City teammates, he is still expected to depart the Etihad Stadium this summer, according to the Mirror.

Oleks had hoped to establish himself further in City’s first team this coming season, but with Benjamin Mendy fit again at left-back, his chances would be reduced.

With that in mind, the youngster is said to have accepted that he’ll have a better chance of regular football away from City and could also play in his preferred midfield position at another club.

Despite missing out on Jorginho to Chelsea and with suggestions that City will not buy an alternative, Pep Guardiola is willing to let Zinchenko leave to further his career elsewhere.
