Manu Garcia set for third loan spell away from Manchester City with Dutch return – City Watch
Spanish playmaker Manu García will return for a second loan spell at NAC Breda in the Netherlands next season after becoming a fan favourite there during their promotion winning 2016-17 campaign.
García was the most successful of City’s loan brigade sent to the Rat Verlegh Stadion, increasing the quality of the side and helping them win promotion to the Eredivisie though the Eerste Divisie play-offs.
The City Football Group partner club have already recruited trio Thierry Ambrose, Paolo Fernandes and Pablo Marí on loan for the 2017-18 season, but will be boosted by the return of 19-year-old Garcia.
A Spain under-19 international, García made his professional debut on 22 September 2015, coming on as a substitute in place of Sergio Agüero during the League Cup win over Sunderland. He would score his first City goal later in that competition against Crystal Palace.
Since then, García has been sent out on loan and after a disappointing spell at Deportivo Alavés in La Liga, headed to NAC Breda, where he was an instant hit and will now play for at a higher level next season in the Dutch top flight. An official announcement should arrive soon.
