Manchester City midfielder returns to Serie A with move to Hellas Verona – City Watch

City Watch

Hellas Verona have struck an agreement with Manchester City to sign Bruno Zuculini after he enjoyed a successful half-season on loan at the Italian club.

After rumours that Zuculini, 24, would instead move to incoming City Football Group member Girona FC next season, it was decided that he could return to the club he helped win promotion to Serie A last season, along with his older brother Franco.

The news comes from Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Italia and has yet to be formally announced, with it being unclear whether this is a permanent or loan deal. Zuculini is out of contract next summer and this was City’s last chance to monetise a player who has failed to live up to expectations since signing from Racing Club.

This morning, Gazzetta dello Sport suggested it would be a permanent switch, and when we know for sure we’ll update you.
