Man City to make £25m January bid for Alexis Sanchez amid new Man United interest – report – City Watch
Manchester City will attempt to land Alexis Sanchez as early as possible by launching a £25million bid for the unsettled Arsenal star during the January transfer window, James Olley of the London Evening Standard reports.
Sanchez saw his expected move to City fall through on deadline day of the summer window, with City goalkeeper Claudio Bravo saying the situation had made his Chile teammate ‘bitter’.
Arsenal may well feel £25million in January isn’t worth it if they’re still competing for trophies by then, and if Arsene Wenger refuses to sell, City remain favourites to land Alexis on a free transfer next summer.
The Blues may have to be mindful of reported interest from neighbours Manchester United however, with new reports claiming Jose Mourinho is now also keen on signing one of the Premier League’s most talented players.
Considering Alexis turned down moves to PSG and Bayern Munich in the summer in the hope of reuniting with Pep Guardiola, who coached him at Barcelona, City are still strong favourites to land Alexis, who continues to snub a £300,000-a-week contract offer to stay at Arsenal.
