Juventus veteran offered new deal as Manchester City and Chelsea wait in the wings – City Watch

Reported Manchester City target Dani Alves has been offered a two-year contract extension at Juventus and is considering his options, according to Goal Italia.

City and Chelsea will wait in the wings while Alves ponders his decision, but other reports in recent weeks have suggested that the right-back was only unsure about his future because of Juventus’ reluctance to offer him anything longer than a 12-month deal.

City are in the market for at least one new right-back after the departures of Pablo Zabaleta, Bacary Sagna and Jesus Navas at the end of their contracts this summer, with Tottenham’s Kyle Walker closely linked with a switch to the Etihad.

Serge Aurier of Paris Saint-Germain has also been mentioned as a potential target but manager Pep Guardiola was hoping to reunite with Alves, who served him so well during his tenure at Barcelona.

Fernandinho is another option at right-back, with growing speculation that Guardiola could look to recruit a new central midfielder for the coming campaign.
