Joe Hart wants West Ham loan deal but Manchester United could enter race – report – City Watch
West Ham want to sign Joe Hart on loan for the 2017-18 season and according to Jason Burt of the Telegraph the interest is mutual, with England’s number one keen on a switch to the London Stadium.
The Hammers’ interest in 30-year-old Hart is nothing new but it appears that a deal could be edging closer, with Slaven Bilić unconvinced by Adrián and Darren Randolph as his goalkeeping options.
And with no bids arriving for Hart after City placed a £20 million price-tag on his head, a loan move to West Ham with a view to a permanent deal next summer would make sense for all parties.
But there could be a twist in the tale yet, with the Telegraph also claiming that Manchester United could move for Hart should David De Gea be sold to Real Madrid in the transfer window. United are ‘genuinely interested’ in signing the City stopper.
In early May, it was reported by various sources, including Jose Mourinho mouthpiece Duncan Castles, that the United boss would consider Joe were De Gea to be sold.
As it stands, De Gea seems more likely to remain at Old Trafford than go, but if that changes then we could see a rare deal struck between the Manchester clubs, with City said to be ready to sanction a deal to United – if the Reds cough up a big fee.
