Joe Hart passes West Ham medical with transfer announcement imminent – City Watch
Joe Hart has passed his West Ham medical and an announcement of his move to the London Stadium could happen today, according to Sky sources.
The Manchester City goalkeeper will join the Hammers on loan for the season with an option to buy next summer. Some reports suggest that the fee will be around £10million should he make his switch permanent in a year’s time, much less than City have been hoping for.
It will be the 30-year-old’s second loan move in two seasons after it became clear that Pep Guardiola did not see him as an ideal fit for the style of play he wanted to build at the Etihad. Last season Joe had a mixed spell on loan at Torino in Serie A.
Hart has never played for another Premier League club but even while playing in the same league, he won’t be allowed to face City next season due to loan rules. However, he, along with fellow fan favourite Pablo Zabaleta, could face off against the Blues when the two clubs meet in a friendly in Iceland on August 4.
