Gerard Romero: Alexis Sanchez agrees to join Manchester City but deal with Arsenal ‘won’t be easy’ – City Watch
Alexis Sanchez has a full agreement with Manchester City to join the club this summer, but there remains the rather large obstacle of Arsenal agreeing to sell their star man to a Premier League rival.
This is the information of respected Spanish journalist Gerard Romero, who has a good track record with Manchester City deals in recent times.
🗞 Alexis Sánchez tiene el acuerdo cerrado con el City. El Manchester y Arsenal tienen q cerrar el traspaso del chileno, nada fácil #mercato

As Romero points out, the hard part is still to come, and that is Txiki Begiristain convincing his counterpart at Arsenal to sanction a deal. Alexis wants the move and is entering the final 12 months of his contract, but despite that Arsenal are standing firm and if they can’t keep him, would rather sell him abroad.
Unfortunately for the Gunners, Alexis is not as keen on a move to Bayern Munich, who fear he is deliberately pricing them out with excessive wage demands in order to to engineer a move to City, where he would work again with Pep Guardiola, the man who signed him at Barcelona.
Yesterday there were reports from Sky Sports that City were in for Borussia Dortmund ace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, an obvious alternative to Alexis, but multiple northern journalists have shot down those rumours, with Alexis still Guardiola’s primary target to strengthen City’s attack.
This could be a long saga with no obvious outcome, but the will of Alexis Sanchez seems to be to join Man City this summer and Blues chiefs are going to do everything to try and make a deal happen.
