Genoa decide not to use their option to sign on-loan Manchester City midfielder – City Watch
We reported yesterday that Genoa had just one day to decide whether to make Olivier Ntcham’s two-year loan move from Manchester City permanent.
The Italian club had an option to buy Ntcham for €3 million (£2.6 million), with City having a structured buy-back clause included, which would allow them to sign Ntcham back for €7 million after one year, €9 million after two years, and €11 million after three years.
According to Il Secolo XIX, Genoa have decided not to use their option to buy Ntcham after he failed to consistently perform over his two years at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.
The 21-year-old former France under-20 international will now return to Manchester City after a long absence and his next career move will be decided.
