From Brazil: Despite PSG interest, City favourites for Dani Alves with offers from Chelsea and Spurs – City Watch
The news from France is that PSG have hijacked Dani Alves’ move to Manchester City and that he is on his way to the French capital. And the counterclaims from England today, courtesy of a briefing from the club, have been that City are still supremely confident of landing the transfer market’s hottest free agent.
From his homeland of Brazil comes a different spin on the story. According to Globo Esporte, the most certain thing is that Dani Alves will be playing his club football in England next season, despite PSG’s late interest.
Their information is that the 34-year-old is most likely to join City, but also has proposals on the table from Tottenham and Chelsea. The Guardiola connection may prove to be the decisive factor in where his future lies, despite late a late play from PSG sporting director Antero Henrique.
It is almost certain that PSG are in the running and trying to convince Dani Alves to abandon his plans of joining Manchester City, but today’s updates appear to point the right-back in the direction of the Etihad Stadium again.
With Alves scheduled to arrive in Manchester earlier this coming week for a medical, this saga will be over soon, hopefully with a positive outcome for City.
